Skyward Ascent is a bouncy, Doodle-Jump-style vertical climber you can play free in your browser with no download. You guide Gummi, a cheerful gummi-slime, up an endless tower of candy clouds — but there's no jump button, because Gummi bounces upward automatically off every cloud it lands on. All you control is left and right, steering to line Gummi up with the next platform overhead, and the arena walls wrap around, so running off one side pops you out the other for clever shortcuts. The higher you climb, the meaner the sky gets: clouds grow sparser and further apart, some drift sideways, some crumble the instant you touch them, spring pads fling you skyward, and spikes appear to punish a sloppy landing. There's no top and no win screen — the tower is endless by design, so the only way the run ends is by missing a cloud and falling off the bottom of the screen. That makes every climb a pure test of nerve and timing, always one more cloud away from a new personal best. Jellybeans collected on the way bank into the Candy Lab, where permanent upgrades — a parachute fall-save, spring boots, wider steering and more — make each future run start a little stronger. Sweet, simple to pick up, and endlessly moreish.

How to play

Gummi bounces upward on its own every time it lands — you only steer sideways. Desktop: press the Left/Right arrows or A/D to move. Mobile: hold the left or right side of the screen, or simply drag left and right. Run off one edge and you wrap around to the opposite side. Line Gummi up with the next cloud to keep climbing; don't fall off the bottom of the screen. Tips: 1) Watch the platform two clouds ahead, not the one you're about to hit — Gummi's bounce is automatic, so pre-aiming your drift is what prevents a missed landing. 2) Use the screen-wrap deliberately: when the next cloud is far to one side, running off the near edge is often faster than crossing the whole screen. 3) Aim for spring pads when the clouds thin out, and spend Jellybeans in the Candy Lab on the parachute and wider steering first to survive the sparse high-altitude stretches.
